The
education program at Good Shepherd includes Bible classes and Bible
studies for all ages from children to adults. We believe that a
good Bible education program is important for all members to gain a
better
understanding of God's Word, the Bible,
God's love for us, and how to live for Him.
Children's Bible Education
| Sunday School |
Through
Bible Stories,
crafts and song, children ages 3-12 learn of God's love for us
throughout the ages, highlighted in Jesus's death and resurrection. It
is extremely important for children to have a moral basis from which
they can face the challenges the world lays before them. Sunday School
gives your children that basis. SUNDAY SCHOOL
MEETS EVERY SUNDAY MORNING AT 9:15 A.M. Classes
are broken down
according to age groups. Beginning
January 6, 2008 through March 16, 2008 Sunday School will begin at
10:15 A.M. |
| Confirmation Classes |
This class for 7-9th graders is designed to give young people a knowledge of God and His Will as they enter their high school years. Upon completion of this 2-year instruction, they are also eligible to receive Holy Communion. CONFIRMATION CLASS MEETS ON WEDNESDAYS AT 3:30 PM. |
| Vacation Bible School |
Every
summer, Good Shepherd hosts a
week-long Vacation Bible School. In this fun five-morning session,
children ages preschool through 6th grade will make great crafts, hear
God's Word, play games with new friends, and eat delicious snacks as
they learn about Jesus and His love. VBS for 2006 will be held on four
Saturdays in July.

| Sunday Morning Bible Class |
Pastor Mueller
teaches an adult Bible class. It is a lecture/discussion session
of various topics of the Bible and how it relates to our every day
lives.
Join the class at 9:15 on
Sunday Morning and learn more about the Bible. Beginning January 6, 2008 through March 16,
2008, adult Bible class will begin at 10:15 am. |
| Small Group Bible Studies |
Small Group
Bible Study meets every other week. In 2006, we have four small
group
studies--Livermore (Wednesday), Discovery Bay (Wednesday), Tracy
(Thursday), and Livermore (Thursday Morning). They discuss
various Bible topics and learn how to answers some of the hard
questions about life through studying the Bible. See Pastor for
more information and
the
current schedule. |
| Bible Information Class |
The Bible Information Class is held twice or three times a year, depending on the demand. The BIC is designed to help you find out what the Bible teaches in a simple, down-to-earth method! Pastor Mueller tackles each major topic with what the Bible teaches about it and how different churches have come to different conclusions about the same topic. Then, you can decide for yourself which church is right for you. Classes meet once a week for about 16-18 weeks. Babysitting can be arranged if needed. Class is not just lecture, but a time in which you can participate as much or as little as you like. If you believe there is a God, but don't know much about Him, you owe it to yourself (and to God) to come to the BIC. |
