Stained glass windows are used in churches to beautify the sanctuary, and the symbols on the windows often help remind us of Christian concepts.  This particular window has a lamb with a cross banner in the center of the window.  This reminds us of Christ the lamb of God, who was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.  Banners were carried during battle with the ensignia of the particular kingdom the army was fighting for.  The banner with the cross represents the Kingdom of God.  Christ conquered death and sin when he died on the cross and arose from death to life.  When we see this symbol, we are reminded that we don't have to suffer for our sins, because Christ suffered and died for all.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! "  John 1:21

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.  Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God."  1 Peter 1:18–21
